Now that school is coming to a close, I've found myself with more time to devote to reading the many awesome blogs of first mothers, fellow APs and fellow KADs. Even as a 35 year old, I'm finding that I had much to learn about the different nuances of adoption language and much of the hurt, angst and loss that accompanies some of the more popular terms that many (including myself at one point) in our society and even within the adoption triad use. Just wondering if any of you other KADs use first mother, real mother, natural mother or just mother vs. what I've now learned to be the more dismissive and marginalizing term "birth mother". How about Gotcha Day?
Like I've said, I've learned so much and my eyes are opened to so many different adoption experiences of all parts of the adoption triad that I never fully understood. Mee Hee, Margie, Ryan, Lea Jade from this forum, I have learned much, indeed and have pondered so much of what each of you has written about your experiences. Thank you! I hope to be joining you in the world of blogging soon. __________________ Paula
